  • For liquid culture applications, a porosity of 0.22µm to 0.45µm is sufficient for effective gas exchange.

  • For grain spawn applications, a porosity of 1.0µm up to 5.0µm is necessary for mycelium to effectively colonize grain spawn.

—> Less porous filters may hinder the ability for grain spawn cultivation to occur within expected timelines. Mycelium may appear to slow or stop after starting to colonize grain and may also appear to “thin” out after slowing of growth.
